Murder Ballads – Tanztheatre cabaret (Kilkenny Festival 2002)

‘…Camille O’Sullivan renders some beautiful interpretations of Cave’s Henry Lee and Where the Wild Roses Grow. She manages to maintain all the menace of the songs but also bring out the heartrending loss of innocence and sadness underlying Cave’s lyrics.’

Patrick Brennan- THE EXAMINER

‘…Singer Camille O’Sullivan subtly lies somewhere between the two other woman, her voice playing delicately between straight narrative and nuance as she sings of the fates of Georgia Lee or Henry Lee. Her dramatic presence is understated, perfectly attuned to the dark rhythms of Nick Cave and Tom Waits whose lyrics and melodies she weaves in and around the dance and the melodrama. This cabaret mixture is highly potent as is the overall effect of the performance.
