Famed
for the passionate intensity of her singing, Camille O’ Sullivan
celebrates several of the 20th
Century’s most dramatic songwriters -with songs almost lost to us now.
Performed in French, English and German, the repertoire includes Marlene
Dietrich’s most famous songs, composed by Friedrich Hollaender &
also from the German Weimar period - the renowned collaboration between
Kurt Weill & Bertolt Brecht. Represented too are the Parisian
Revues of the 50’s and 60’s made memorable by Edith Piaf and the
enigmatic Belgian Jacques Brel, and comedy writer Tom Lehrer .
With a love for storytelling,
expect to meet characters such as Pirate Jenny, the Vamp & The
Kleptomaniac captured in songs that range from provocative, desolate to
humorous.
